II. Sahana Deployed by

Official host of Sahana: Chengdu Police

III. How Sahana was used

  • IBM China supported the customization, translation, and deployment of Sahana (Agasti - 0.6 branch) for use by the Chengdu Police.
  • Modules used:
    • The main modules that were customized were the DVR (Disaster Victim Registry) and the CR (Camp Registry) module.
    • A DVS (disaster victim search) module was created. The forms were simplified for the requirement and enhancements included linking for DVR to CR and AJAX functionality.
    • DVR and CR was for private government use, whilst the DVS was made available for public use

IV. How Sahana Community Supported the Deployment

IBM China provided the local on site support; a list of community members who worked with IBM China on bug fixes and code enhancements for the various modules is listed below in the notes section.

V. Major Accomplishments/Outcomes

Sahana was used for the public intake of missing persons information through the DVS and helped the local government track shelters and registered persons (see above)
Quantitative Information on the use of Sahana:

  • 40008 families were tracked
  • 42 families were reunited through Sahana

VI. Lessons Learned

See Minutes below for follow on actions

Minutes

  • Deployment was at Chengdu Police
  • The main modules that were customized were the DVR (Disaster Victim Registry) and the CR (Camp Registry) module. A DVS (disaster victim search) module was created. The forms were simplified for the requirement and enhancements included linking for DVR to CR and AJAX functionality.
  • DVR and CR was for private use, whilst DVS was made available for public use
  • There were bug fixes that were captured in lotus notes (mostly in Chinese)
  • IBM is completing a code scan process before they submit the code back to the code base
  • 40008 families were tracked
  • 42 families have been reunited through Sahana so far
