Sahana GIS Architecture

The Sahana GIS architecture follows some important goals

• Standards Based
• F/OSS Component Reusability
• Implementation independent plugin-architecture

GIS in Sahana is implemented as core library functionality under <sahana-folder>/inc/lib_gis. Some functionality such Situation Mapping and GPS Interface are implemented as modules.

The functionality is easily-accessible to module developes via the GIS API

The GIS functionality has a few requirements of the base system above a non-GIS Sahana instance:

• PHP configuration on Web server
• Folders writable by Web server
