Human Remains Management (HRM)

For further work on Sahana VITA, this documentation will help future contributors to get familiar with the terminology used in this module.

Module Definition

This module assists the management of dead bodies and other human remains recovered from disaster sites. The main functionality is as follows:

  • Capture information about Recovery Site
  • Manage Human Remains found at the Disaster Site

HRM Tasks: There are two main tasks in Human Remain Management:

  • Record the data about recovery site.
  • Record the information about all remains found, body or item.

HRM Task Status: A list of options for task's status, that is a task can be New (a new request), Assigned (to someone), In Progress, Completed

Find: Whenever a recovery team or a volunteer or any other person reports presence of human remains at a disaster site, then information like location, who found, when (date/time), number of bodies estimated and recovered from the site, is recorded in this Find record.

Body: Any human remain (complete/fragments) are treated as individual bodies and are tagged by a label and some information like condition and probable age and gender are recorded.
